Jodie has been a part of the dance community since the age of 2 and went on to attend the National Ballet School of Canada, Conteur Dance’s summer intensives, and competed in the prestigious YAGP, placing the in top 20 for both classical variations and contemporary choreography. While studying at the University of Waterloo (UW), Jodie joined the competitive dance team and eventually became the Co-Captain the University of Waterloo Dance Company. Upon graduation from UW’s internationally renowned Aviation program, Jodie reluctantly retired from dance, and started working as a co-pilot on the Boeing 737. During the intensive simulator training, Jodie found yoga, meditation and mindfulness practices as a way to allow her to perform her absolute best in the flight deck. Upon the collapse of the airline industry in the spring of 2020, Jodie was out of the cockpit, and on to her yoga mat, for yoga teacher training (RYT-200). Fusing her love for dance, with the life changing power of yoga, Jodie teaches a playful vinyasa focusing on improving flexibility, increasing strength, and quieting the mind.
